Students with social-cognitive disabilities (Asperger’s Syndrome, Non-Verbal
Learning Disabilities) encounter unique challenges as they transition from high
school to college. College students face situations in which parents can no
longer intervene. They must learn to function independently, to problem solve
on their own, and to navigate the social world. In order to adapt and succeed
in college, it is essential that students be prepared for the experiences
that lie ahead.
